Procurement Officer - Indirect

Job Responsibilities:
The Procurement Officer - Indirect is responsible for managing the procurement of indirect services, including but not limited to consulting services, marketing materials and services, IT services, logistics, legal, human resources, maintenance, and other non-product-related services. This role involves evaluating, sourcing, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with company policies and objectives.
1. Procurement Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect services to optimize cost and quality while aligning with business needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their service requirements and ensure that procurement solutions meet organizational objectives.
2. Supplier Sourcing and Negotiation
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for indirect services, ensuring the best quality, service, and pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value for the company.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective collaboration and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets for indirect services, ensuring that costs are aligned with financial targets.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and continually assess opportunities for efficiency improvements.
3. Compliance, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Identify potential risks in supplier agreements and work proactively to mitigate them.
- Regularly review and improve processes and practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to indirect services procurement.
4. Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Analyze market trends, service pricing, and supplier performance to make informed decisions.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills for examining vendor proposals, managing supplier performance, and cost analysis.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of purchasing and contract management.
- Ability to anticipate and address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in ordering and invoicing.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet timelines.
- Service-oriented with a pleasant personality.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Ability to collaborate with production, quality, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Attention to Detail:
Experience:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Familiarity with the procurement of indirect goods and services, such as tooling, equipment maintenance, and facilities management.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC6, Hana, or others).
