Thailand Country Marketing Director
Knauf is the leading plasterboard manufacturer in Thailand. The principle “channels to market” are through distribution outlets. However, Knauf services a range of key influencers including developers, architects, residential builders and plasterers. Knauf has positioned the business as a “provider of solutions” and Knauf is highly regarded in the Thailand market for the extensive range of products, technical capability and support.
Knauf Thailand’s headquarter is based in Bangkok, with five manufacturing facilities which are located in Saraburi and Songkhla, covering close to 600 employees in both the plants and commercial offices.
We are now looking for an experienced marketer to become our next Thailand Marketing Director.
The Thailand Country Marketing Head is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that bolster our market presence in Thailand while carefully managing our multi-brands. This position involves a nuanced understanding of brand management, product strategy, and digital marketing to effectively drive business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
- Design and implement a robust marketing strategy in alignment with our Thailand business unit objectives.
- Deep understanding of the market landscape including industry trends, competitive environment & customer needs/requirements
- Integrate insights into product strategies and development processes
- Utilize market research and insights to identify opportunities and mitigate competitive pressures.
- Lead strategic discussions with cross-functional colleagues to ensure cohesive and integrated business operations.
2. Brand Management:
- Develop and maintain strong brand positioning in Thailand
- Cultivate brand equity through innovative campaigns and strategic partnerships.
- Manage brand consistency across all marketing platforms and customer interactions.
3. Product Management and Knowledge:
- Clearly articulate our product value to different target groups (applicator, dealer, architect)
- Define how the product stands out in the market
- Equip our sales teams with the right information and sales arguments
- Maintain a deep understanding of product features and benefits to effectively communicate value propositions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize & create the product from idea to launch
- Ensure successful product launches, including go-to-market strategies
- Continuously improve the product portfolio based on customer feedback and market dynamics
- Determine technical product & system requirements by translating customer needs into technical specifications
- Balance business goals with technical limitations to ensure feasibility
4. Digital and Traditional Marketing:
- Leverage digital marketing channels to elevate brand presence and engage target audiences.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns that encompass digital, traditional, and experiential marketing strategies.
- Use analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and refine marketing tactics accordingly.
5. Public Relations and Communication:
- Manage PR initiatives to foster positive media relationships and heighten brand visibility.
- Design comprehensive communication strategies to effectively convey brand messages to broad audiences.
- Engage customers through impactful storytelling and thought leadership content.
6. Budget and Resource Management:
- Oversee marketing budgets to ensure optimal allocation and resource utilization.
- Track financial performance and adjust strategies to meet budgetary objectives and enhance ROI.
- Report on the performance and efficacy of marketing spend.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of marketing professionals in a high-performance culture.
- Coach and mentor team members to develop skills and advance their careers.
- Advocate for teamwork and cooperation across departments to drive holistic business success.
8. Compliance and Market Knowledge:
- Ensure adherence to all local regulations and ethical standards in marketing practices.
- Stay informed about market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive activities to drive timely and innovative marketing initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior marketing management role within Knauf or other multinational companies.
- Proven expertise in brand building, strategic marketing, product management, and product knowledge.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a global mindset.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms and analytics tools.
- Financial acumen and experience managing sizable marketing budgets.
- Knowledge of product development cycles, go-to-market strategies
- and product lifecycle management
- Familiarity with market analysis and research methodologies and competitive analysis tools
- Project management skills for planning, implementing and monitoring product development and market launch projects
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively
- with internal teams, customers and other stakeholders
- Ability to work as a team & collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, sales and customer support
- Persuasiveness and influence to present ideas and gain buy-in for marketing, brand and product strategies from stakeholders
